Yogesh Gupta

Yogesh Gupta is a Life and Executive Coach, author, and seasoned Learning & Development professional with over four decades of experience across corporate leadership, training, and human development. Raised in Delhi, his worldview was shaped early by resilience and positivity after losing his father at a young age—values instilled by his mother that continue to guide his life and work.
After a successful career with Hoechst (now Sanofi) and more than a decade in Training & Development, Yogesh transitioned into coaching to help individuals overcome fear, build self-awareness, and live with purpose. In his book, LIVING WITH HAPPINESS, My journey of Living, Learning & finding joy within’, he invites readers to move beyond chasing external success and discover lasting happiness through mindfulness, gratitude, and conscious living.

The Eliteone: Living With Happiness emphasizes “living with” happiness rather than chasing it. What moment or realization inspired this shift in perspective for you?

Yogesh Gupta:  While in corporate world for a long time, I realized that all the name, fame, rewards are good, however it can give happiness for some time. Lasting happiness can come not by chasing it, but enjoying the present moment with all its pluses & minuses. That only can provide peace & happiness.

The Eliteone: You speak deeply about gratitude and mindfulness. How have these practices personally transformed your life?

Yogesh Gupta: Gratitude has helped me gain mental peace, humility & improved relations both in personal & professional life. Mindfulness has avoided unnecessary anxiety, mental stress & has helped enjoy the present moment. Both these have really helped me gain wisdom & improved my overall life.

The Eliteone: Losing your father at a young age was a defining experience. How did that early loss shape your understanding of happiness and resilience?

Yogesh Gupta: It made me understand the sacrifices of my mother & inculcate the habit of valuing every small achievement, inculcate a positive outlook & rise after setbacks to touch newer heights. All this has helped me in my understanding of happiness & resilience in life.

The Eliteone: After nearly four decades of sales in corporate life, what motivated you to transition into coaching and writing?

Yogesh Gupta: In my four decades of corporate role in Sales leadership as well as Training, Sales personnel & coaching Line Managers, I developed deep interest in coaching them to uncover & sharpen their capabilities towards achieving their goals. With this rich experience coupled with that of personal life, I wanted to share it with everyone to understand how Living with happiness is more important than chasing it throughout life…Writing is the best medium…

The Eliteone: Many people struggle with comparison and self-doubt today. What advice would you give to someone caught in that cycle?

Yogesh Gupta: My advice is that instead of comparing with others, let’s focus on your life’s journey. God has provided with a different Life-package to everyone. Comparison only leads to low esteem, mental unrest & reduced productivity.

The Eliteone: From your experience as a trainer and coach, what is the most common misconception people have about happiness?

Yogesh Gupta: Often people believe that happiness can be achieved with materialistic gains & they will be happy if they achieve this or that. Some even have myth that everyone else is happier than them. However, none of this is true.

The Eliteone: How can professionals balance ambition and contentment without feeling guilty about either?

Yogesh Gupta: There is nothing wrong in having ambition towards your goal. All efforts must be put in towards achieving them. However, one need to have a mature approach i.e. have self-awareness of capabilities & inculcate contentment without comparing with anyone else.

The Eliteone: Fear is a recurring theme in your work. What are some practical ways individuals can begin overcoming their fears?

Yogesh Gupta: First identify & accept your fears. Do not feel guilty about it, have self-compassion, since as a human being it’s quite natural to have some fears. Challenge your own negativity & reframe perspectives. Use mindfulness to avoid overthinking & take support from relevant source.

The Eliteone: In a fast-paced, achievement-driven world, how can one cultivate daily positivity without ignoring real challenges?

Yogesh Gupta: One needs to understand that challenges are an essential & unavoidable part of our lives. So, no need to ignore it but to build inner strength to face & fight it by using a positive mindset & regular self- upgradation.

The Eliteone: What do you hope readers feel or change within themselves after finishing Living with Happiness?

Yogesh Gupta: I am confident that after finishing this book, readers will start seeing world from a different perspective. They will feel that Happiness is very much within or around them, only they need to look inward & start enjoying it every moment & day, rather than chasing it outside. In fact, few have already shared it since last two weeks of the book launch!
